Tips for Tuesday!

You are you, and you are beautiful

This post goes along with last weeks tips for Tuesday.  Don't be afraid to put yourself in your layouts.  I am guilty of this at times too.  I am always the one behind the camera and when I am not ugh! I am pretty much not a fan of myself in pictures.  Sometimes I can pull out a a gem...
and other times...
not so much!

Good times, bad times, it's still me. You are your toughest critic.  You will be harder on yourself then anyone else will ever be.  Don't be afraid to step out from behind the camera.

As I stated in my last post, my grandma passed away a few years back.  I am currently compiling pictures of her and my grandfather for an 8x8 album.  My grandma hated having her picture taken.  Right now I have twice as many pictures of my grandfather then I have of her.  Not only is this going to be an unbalanced album but I don't have very many pictures of her to look back on.

So what it all comes down to is.......
For your children's sake, scrap yourself!!

My Memories Review and Giveaway!

Hello my bloggy friends! I have been given a wonderful opportunity to review My Memories Suite 2.0 digital scrapbooking software.

I am new to the world of digital scrapbooking and to be perfectly honest I didn't have a whole lot of interest in it.  However, when I was asked to review this software, I was really excited. I wanted it so I could make templates for my traditional scrapbooking layouts.  To my surprise when I started to use the digital software I discovered that...............

           I LOVE IT!!

My Memories Suite 2.0 is super user friendly and for someone new to the game I think I created some pretty cool pages!  I was amazed by all this software had to offer! One of the draw backs that I thought was true about digital scrap booking is the lack of dimension with your layouts.  This is so not the case! My Memories offers a ton of embellishments along with a shadow technique that makes them pop off the page! This was one of my favorite features!! There are so many options that I still don't know what all that this program has to offer. I can't wait to find out though!!  This software has really changed my view on digital scraping!

Here are two of my favorite projects that I have created so far!

I hope this post has inspired you to try something new because here's your chance!
I am having a giveaway for this fabulous digital scrapbooking software.  There is just a few things you need to do.

Back to work tomorrow

Today was my last day of freedom.  My mini vacation ends and tomorrow is back to reality.  However, I can honestly say that this has been one of the best mini vacas ever!  My week has consisted of family, friends and crafting.  Every day seemed to be a fun filled adventure. My very last day was devoted to nothing but scrapping! I spent the day with my friend Alisha and what a day it was! We went on a shopping spree at both Michael's and Joann's. (I went a little over board)  Once we got back to my house we moved the dinning room table in to the living room and had a crafting/True Blood (my current favorite show) marathon.

I worked on seval projects including my Imaginisce treasure chest!!

Most importantly I finished my projects for the McVic is 36 blog hop on the 31st of August!  Make sure you stop by! We have a lot of talent and a lot of yummy candy! I am so excited as this is my first hop!

Hope you all enjoy the rest of your week!

Tips for Tuesday!

Today's Tuesday Tip is all about journaling.

I know there are a lot of people out there that use the computer to do their jourmaling. I to am guilty of it.  The most common excuse for using their computer is they don't like their handwriting.  Well here is something to think about.  My grandma passed away a few years ago and one of the things I remember most about her is her hand writing.  I know that sounds weird, but it's true.  Most people make their scrapbooks to hand them down to there children.  It is so much more personal to use your own hand writing. No matter how much you may not like it, it's yours and something that your kids will remember.

Happy Anniversary My Love!

11 years ago today we found each other.
5 years ago today we started a life together.
And today, I am still nuts about you!

I am so blessed this week for many reasons. I have a loving husband, great friends, and a second opportunity to be a guest designer! I would like to take the time to thank Lynne from Her Craftiness for allowing me to show my work on her blog.

To celebrate my anniversary I choice an old layout from our wedding album.

This is my favorite page out of the entire album. I saw a similar page in a Close To My Heart catalog and loved it.  I tweaked it a little to make it my own.  I love the black and white photo with the bright green and pink. I used my Close To My Heart ink and Stamps and a Cricut Cartridge to create this layout.  You will have to forgive me, it's been along time and I don't remember all the details:)

However, my second project is new just today so I remember everything!!

This is the anniversary card that I made for my husband. In my crafting circle I am kind of known for being untraditional when it comes to my paper choices.  I tend to mix designs and colors that must people would not.  I can't help it, it's who I am!  The paper I choose for this card is from the Recollections All Season paper pack.

For my cute little squirrel I used my new favorite Cricut cartridge Create A Critter.

I added some bling and I used my white pen to make my word pop. I really love the way this card turned out and I hope you do too!

Now for the fun part! BLOG CANDY!!
Today I am giving away some Recollections bling and embellishments.

To be eligible to win please check out my blog my-o-scrappin, become a follower and leave a comment on this post.  If you are already a follower that's ok, you also have a chance to win! I will be picking the winner on Sunday the 21st using random.org.  Winners must live in the continental United States.

Again I want to thank Lynne @ Her Craftiness for giving me this opportunity. You have shown me great kindness this week.
THANK YOU!! THANK YOU!!

Tips for Tuesday!

This weeks tip for Tuesday is .....

Think before you crop!

I can not tell you how many times I could not finish a layout due to poor choices in cropping!  It is so important to get it right the first time, you don't want to waste paper by printing extra pictures.

I'm a guest designer!

For starters I want to thank my blog buddy Kacee for giving me this opportunity to put my name out there.  I am very new to the blog world and Kacee has been an amazing help with the entire process.  I am blessed so to have a friend who has such a wealth of knowledge and creativity.  So thanks Kacee Mcvic, you're a peach!  For my guest debut, I choose a card, and a 12x12 layout.

My scrap bin was getting a little full so I decided to pick out some odds and ends to create this card.
I used my Create A Critter Cricut cartridge for my cupcake, my Cindy Loo Cricut cartridge to create the frame, added a little bling and vola!  Simple and Sweet, just the way I like it.

For my layout I picked an old favorite of mine.  The young girl in the pictures is very special to me and is going through a rough time in her life.  She means the world to me!  This layout makes me smile because shes in it.

Now for the best part....BLOG CANDY!!  Since September is around the corner, I am giving away a September/Fall themed mini album and some Martha Stewart Glitter.

To be eligible to win please check out my blog my-o-scrappin, become a follower and leave a comment on this post.  If you are already a follower that's ok, you also have a chance to win! I will be picking the winner on Sunday the 21st using random.org.  Winners must live in the continental United States.

Kacee, thanks again for having me on your blog!

Here Kitty Kitty Kitty

I won an Anna Griffin paper pack from my local scrapbook store Stampadoodle.  This pack was definitely for a girl kitty and I have a beastly boy.  This is my baby Dylan below.

I had no idea what I was going to do with this pack and then it hit me...KITTY! Kitty belongs to my friend Apryl, well her husband really.  Kitty is for sure a daddies girl:)  Once she popped into my head I was inspired!

I used the Anna Griffin paper with some plain and glitter card stock.  In the kit there was some bling and ribbon which I also used.  I used some Funky Flock from The Rubbercafe to make the ball of yarn.  For the cute little Cricut version of Kitty, I used Create A Critter!  For Kitty's name I used Lyrical Letter Cricut cartridge. (one of my new favorites)  Threw in some stickles and a little bling and we're done!

Tips for Tuesday!

If you are anything like me you are a paper hoarder.  I am addicted to all the cute designs and I can not stop buying it!  I have so much paper I am running out of room to store it!  One of my biggest issues is forgetting why I bought some of the stuff that I did.  Was it for a birthday, girls night out?  The possibilities are endless!  In order to keep track of my paper goodness I came up with a system that works for me.

Most 12x12 paper that you buy have a strip at the bottom with the manufactures name.
I decided to write the event and date for my layouts on that strip.  This way if I buy a certain paper for a specific event I will know why I bought it.  No more wondering what I am going to use it for.  I do three weekend crops a year and I only print my pictures at that time.  This keeps me organized and in the know!  I hope you find this tip helpful in for your future craft endeavors!

Is it Christmas!?

Today was just like Christmas!  I won my first piece of blog candy :).  Thanks Kerri!  My awesome blog buddy Kacee McVic called to let me know that we received some I-Top swag from Imaginisce. Last but not least I got my order from scrapbook.com with my Echo Park paper packs.  Seriously! Could have been any better!?  Big thanks to the crafting community!  You are awesome!

Too many projects too little time

Lately I have  been doing something that I never do! I haven been starting project after project with out finishing a single one! Grrrr......this is so not like me!  Out of my five projects that I am working on, I finally finished two.  So without further ado here they are!

First I made two cards with Stampin Up paper, an imaginisce stamp, a little bling, ribbon, Scraphappy Sheer Glue and You're So Fine Glitter from the Rubber Cafe (http://www.therubbercafe.com/).
Look at my glitter!

To make my card glitter I applied my Scraphappy Sheer Glue lightly on my stamped paper and spread it evenly over the paper.  Once the glue was slightly tacky I dipped my finger in  my You're So Fine Glitter and rubbed it all over paper.  It makes a nice little shine in the light and I love the way it looks! Thanks Rubber Cafe for the ideas!
I know that I'm not the first to come up with this idea and I won't be the last.  My next project is a calender that I created from the Teresa Collins paper that my buddy Alisha picked up from a garage sale. I used a 12x12 frame that I had laying around to frame the paper.  I used a dry erase maker to put up the dates and my fun things to do in the month on August.  I love the way it turns out and I may never have to buy a calender again! Score!

That is all for now! More projects to come!
