Happy Halloween from the JMECreations DT!

Indeed it is Halloween! I am stuck at work today (sad face) I hope everyone else is out playing and having a great time!  Here is a quick Halloween card and treat bag I made for today's DT post.

I saw the batty ribbon at Joann's for half off and I had to buy it!
I wasn't sure what I was going to do with it but this is what I came up with.  I used the CTMH stamp of the month "Wicked" from August for my black cat and sentiment.
I bought a super cool glossy gel pen to make my sentiment pop!
I love my new pen!

For this cute little treat bag I used this spooky little Joann's sticker.
I also added twine because I think that twine makes everything better!!

Here is the matching pair!

Everyone have a fun and safe Halloween!
Don't forget to haunt Jamie's blog to see what everyone else came up with!
Happy Haunting!!

Summer Fun Revistied!

Here is a little bit of summer fun to warm up the crisp fall air!
These pictures were taken out our local fair.
I only work on my 12x12 layouts 2 to 3 times a year so my timing is a little off for the seasons.
(I save them all for my weekend retreats)

I had to do a cow  layout because I couldn't pass up these cute pictures I took.
The baby cow was actually born at the Fair.
Isn't she super sweet!!

I used my Create a Critter Cart to make my little cow and little red barn.
I took my Tim Holtz embossing folder to give my little red barn some texture.
I lined my heart with some awesome twine!
I love me some twine right now!
One of my favorite techniques is using buttons for grass.
I love the way it looks!

I hope you enjoyed my trip down memory lane at the Fair!
Have a crafty day!

Tips for Tuesday! Guest Tipper!

Keep your eyes moving!

Today's tip is brought to you by Kari @ purplefuntastickcreations.blogspot.com
Stop by her blog and check her awesome work!

The tip is the idea of keeping your eye roaming around the layout or card you make.
You want to make sure you have a main focus
and then the stuff around it is moving the eye to see around it.

Like for example the main focus of the layout is the picture
but the embellies like ribbon, flowers, and journal around the picture
is what keeps the eye roaming around the main focus.....
they see all that other pretties.

Same thing for the card,
usually a sentiment or stamp that is the main focus
then decorating around it keeps the eye moving to see the whole card.

Thank you so much Kari for tipping on my blog!
You are welcome back anytime!

Happy Birthday Card take 3!

October is full of birthdays for me!
Here is my attempt at a masculine card.

It's pretty simple but I really like it!
Of course it's Echo Park paper so what's not to like?
I threw in some twine and a cute little brad,
but everything else is Echo Park!
In case you didn't get the hint,
I love me some Echo Park!

Happy Birthday Noah!
And to all my crafty friends,
a very merry unbirthday to you!
Unless it's your birthday today,
then happy birthday!

Hello My Foxy Friend!

This challenge was all about paper piecing.
I had an awesome time making this card.
I used a little bit more of my Echo Park scraps,
my Lawn Fawn stamps,
twine, and my Cricut.
The sentiment is CTMH.
The end result makes me smile.

Thanks for stopping by!
Have a  super crafty weekend!

Tips for Tuesday!

Smart phones are a great tool!

For those of you that have smart phones use them to your scrapbooking advantage!
I use mine all the time!

I use mine at Michael's or Joann's.
I like to take pictures of the add signs at both places so I get their discounts at either store.

For iphone users, there is a Joann's app for coupons!
It is awesome!

There is also an app for scrapbooksteals.com
The app is called Today's Steals.

When I am at my local scrapbook store Stampadoodle,
I take pictures of all the cards and layouts that I like for inspiration.

Lastly when I scrap I always layout my whole page before I glue anything down.
I use my iphone to take pictures of my layout so I know where everything goes.
Sometimes I layout my page too many times to remember what I just did.

Bottom line, smart phones rock!

For The Love Of Ryan! My Craft Spot DT Call!

Hello my bloggy friends!! This layout is a first for me.
I saw something similar on a fellow friends blog and thought I would give it a shot.
My main focus for this layout was layering.
I am all for dimension in my layouts but never really layering.

For those of you that don't me personally, I love the paranormal!
I find it extremely fascinating!
My favorite paranormal TV show is
Paranormal State!
(the old one, not the new class)
In saying that, the host Ryan Buell is my favorite!!
I have been blessed with meeting him on more then one occasion.
This last time I was a part of the bloggy world so this layout got a touch of something new.
I also decided my something new would work great for the

Only having two pictures for this layout,
I decided to blow up the Space Needle and cut around it.
I thought I would add to the randomness of my layering.

In order to create my layers I laid down a strip of orange paper which you can see in the background.
I wanted to have an area marked to create on.
I found some paper scraps from the scrap bin that matched my background.
I used my Sizzix machine to cut out three different sized flowers and hearts.
I had some extra Halloween embellishments to add.
Rub-ons that came with my paper.
My rock to attach my bling.
Last I used my Cricut Cart, Rock Princess to make my little "lucky" skull.
My layer started from the left and worked it's way over.
I tried to show as much layout and dimension without over powering the page.
I think I found the right balance.

Where there was negative space with on my orange strip
I added some IROCK bling.
I used my rub-ons on my picture and for the with bottom layer.
I love the effect it had on my layout.

I hope you all enjoyed my "Ryan" layout!
Have a crafty day!!

Lawnscaping Challenge Post!

I bought my first set of Lawn Fawn stamps about a month ago.  I went to the Olympic Game farm with my husband for our 5 year anniversary.  There was the cutest raccoon there and I got some great pictures of him! So when I saw the Lawn Fawn Critters In The Forest stamp set, I had to have it!! When I saw the Lawnscaping challenge I had to create it!  The challenge is all about dimension and it went right along with my layout idea.
Here is my Lawn Fawn layout!

I used the tree stamp and a bunch of green scrap paper to make my forest.
I used my Cuddle Bug embossing folders on some of the trees and the clouds.
I added some cute little stickers I found at Joanns to finish the look.

I used my pop-up dots to give my forest a little bit of depth.

I stamped a dragon fly and a little mushroom.
To finish it off,
I added my little Copic colored raccoon.

I really like the way it turned out and I hope you do too.
I also wanted to take the time to say something about the Lawn Fawn Clear Stamps.
They stamp amazing! I was so impressed by how clean and crisp they stamp.
I have nothing bad and everything good to say about the quality.
I am a Lawn Fawn fan for life!
They are a stampers dream come true!

Thanks Lawn Fawn!!

Tips for Tuesday!

Pop-Up dots, don't be wasteful!

You can get a lot of use out of your pop-up dots.
One sheet can go a lot farther then you might think.
Don't just use the dots themselves, use the the corners,
and the scraps too.  You can cut of as small or as big of piece you like.
Short and sweet, but a great tip!

This tip was brought to you by my friend Alisha!

Thanks for stoppin' by! Have a super crafty day!

A Little Owl Love

Here is another JME Creations design team post!  I this project was all about the owls.
I had a few options of what I could do.  Did I want to use my Cricut or stamps?  I decided to go with stamps.  Here is what I came up with.

My owl stamp was purchased from the $1.00 bin at Michael's.  I used some Bakers Twine, my IROCK, stickels, glossy accents, and my Martha Stewart punch to create this card.  OH....I almost forgot the googly eyes!!
I approached this card a little different then I normally do.  I wasn't sure what I wanted to do with the stamp itself.  I stamped the owl three different times and went to work.  The first imagine I thought I would color.  I didn't like it.  Since I already new I wasn't going to use that image I used it for all the other ideas.  I couldn't decide what color Stickels I wanted to use so I tested it on my messed up image.
(This is a great idea for my Tips for Tuesday!!)
I used glossy accents for the tree branch and the sentiment.  I used a pop up dot to adhere the stamp.
I really like the way this card turned out.  I was more then a little iffy at first.

Don't forget to pop over to Jamie's Blog to see all the other DT creations!
